CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT
The first Gordon Research Conference "Auditory
System" will be held June 29 - July 4, 2008 at
Colby-Sawyer College, New London, NH.
The major goal of this conference is to bring
together world-leading auditory scientists and
students who investigate key issues in the
mammalian auditory system. Emphasis is given to
cover the auditory system as a whole, from the
cochlea to prefrontal cortex and from
genetic/molecular mechanisms of cochlear
development and function to complex auditory
perception including language, learning
disabilities, and tinnitus.
The informal setting at Gordon Research
Conferences and the multi-level and
interdisciplinary composition of basic and clinical
researchers will encourage extensive scientific
interactions with the hope to foster the
formulation of new concepts and the identification
of central issues that need to be addressed in the
coming years.
For more information, including a list of
speakers and registration procedures, please go to
the Gordon Research Conference website http://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2008&program=auditory
The number of participants is limited to 120, so
early application is highly encouraged.
For students and postdocs: The GRC will be
preceded by a Graduate Research Seminar (June
28-29) which will bring together promising graduate
students and postdoctoral fellows to present and
discuss original research in a constructive and
informal environment. For more information, please
see http://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2008&program=grad_audit.
Again, space is limited and earl application
strongly encouraged.
With best regards,
