TRAINEE SCHOLARSHIPS - 12th
INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON COCHLEAR IMPLANTS IN
CHILDREN
Trainee Scholarships are available for the 12th
International Symposium on Cochlear Implants in
Children. This symposium will be on June 17-20,
2009 held at The Listen for Life Center at the
Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. The
purpose behind this symposium is so that
professionals from all over the world can come
together in Seattle to discuss and come up with new
ideas and developments to improve sound quality and
treatment options for children with hearing loss.
A primary goal of this symposium is for
professionals to share their work and in turn, join
together to progress the quality of care and
treatment for children.
Trainee Scholarships:
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be
pre-doctoral or post-doctorate trainees who
completed their doctoral degree no more than two
years ago. This includes trainees and residents in
the fields of: medicine, communication sciences,
psychology and education. Applicants must submit an
abstract with this application and plan to present
at the CIC 2009 meeting. Trainees from the U.S. and
from other countries are encouraged to apply.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OFFERED: Registration
waiver, airfare, and three nights of accommodation
will be provided.
SPONSOR'S LETTER: This letter should not exceed
one page. Please touch on the following points:
1. Assessment of this student's potential
capability to make substantive contributions to the
field of Cochlear Implants.
2. Comment on the ability of this student to
interact and benefit from this meeting.
3. Is funding pivotal to this student coming to
this conference?
APPLICANT'S STATEMENT: This letter should not
exceed one page. Please indicate the following:
1. Letter describing your current training status
as well as the relevance of your work to the field
of Cochlear Implants. Indicate if you have been a
recipient of this award in the past.
2. Abstract (200 word maximum)
