BONE DISEASES AFFECTING THE FACIAL NERVE AND HEARING-1976
Video Tape, 56 minutes, $125.00

Because the organ of hearing is situated within the temporal bone, it is logical that bone disease can affect hearing. In addition, the facial nerve, which transverses the temporal bone is vulnerable to changes that occur in this confined space. A number of uncommon conditions can affect the temporal bone, and the otologist sould be aware of them. Dr. Hamersma explores these rare conditions and their symptoms.

RETROLABYRINTHINE APPROACH TO THE CEREBELLOPONTINE ANGLE-1977
Video Tape, 55 minutes, $125.00
D.E. Brackmann, MD; W.E. Hitselberger, MD

Excellent exposure of the cerebellopontine angle is obtained by an approach through the mastoid posterior to the labyrinth. Morbidity with this approach is much less than with the standard suboccipital approach to the cerebellopontine angle. The retrolabyrinthine approach has been used primarily for selective partial section of the trigeminal nerve for tic douloureux. Cases with this disorder, as well as other indications for this approach, are described in detail.

RETROLABYRINTHINE SELECTIVE SECTION OF THE TRIGEMINAL NERVE (POSTERIOR) FOR INTRACTABLE PAIN-1971
Video Tape, 10 minutes, $90.00
D.E. Brackmann, MD; J.L. Pulec, MD

In the transtemporal approach to the trigeminal nerve, fibers distal to the ganglions are sectioned, resulting in a high incidence of recurrence. Demonstrated is an approach that combines the more satisfactory results of the suboccipital approach with the lower complication rate of the transtemporal approach. The retrolabyrinthine technique is shown in drawings, anatomic models, and a surgical case.
