The ARO Organization

The association was founded in 1973. It is under the direction of the ARO Council that consists of a President, a Past President, a President-Elect, a Secretary-Treasurer, an Editor, a Historian and three Council Members At-Large, all of whom are elected from and by the membership. The functions of the organization are established by bylaws carried out with the help of the following committees and often with counsel from past presidents.

Scientific Meetings

Two annual scientific meetings are supported. The MidWinter Meeting is held each year and is the primary meeting of the society. At this meeting an Award of Merit is given to a scientist for recognition of outstanding scientific achievement. The Award of Merit recipients were duly recognized at ceremonies highlighting both their life and their science.

The association also co-sponsors the Research Forum, a scientific session held concurrently with the annual meeting of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

ARO Office

As of April 1, 1997, the association has been managed by Talley Management Group, Inc. that maintains an ARO office in Mt. Royal, New Jersey, USA. All publications, meetings, committee reports, communications and financial functions are coordinated through this office.

Web Site

The ARO website is designed to provide members with current information on the ARO. Submissions to be considered for posting on the website should be sent to Darla Dobson. Any suggestions to enhance this web site will be appreciated.
