Call for Nominations for the 2018 Geraldine Dietz Fox Young Investigator Award


2018 Geraldine Dietz Fox Young Investigator Award


Nominations are sought for the Geraldine Dietz Fox Young Investigator Award, to be presented at the 2018 Annual Midwinter Meeting of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology, February 9-14, in San Diego.  Candidates should have a graduate degree (PhD, MD or equivalent), show accomplishment and promise in research related to otolaryngology, and be no more than 5 years beyond residency or postdoctoral training at the time of nomination.  ARO membership is not required for either nominees or nominators.


Please submit nominations by Friday, January 15, 2018 (extended deadline).  Each nomination should be accompanied by the nominee’s CV and two letters supporting the nomination.  Please submit by email to the Chair of the ARO Awards Committee, Ruth Anne Eatock,   Receipt of the nomination will be acknowledged by return email.  Nominations will be evaluated by the ARO Award of Merit Committee.


From 1998-2014, the Young Investigator Award was named in honor of the memory of a promising young auditory physiologist.  Since 2015, the award has been named in honor of Geraldine Dietz Fox, who is well known for her outstanding support of research in hearing and deafness.   See previous recipients at the ARO website, and background on Gerry Fox and the Young Investigator Award on the Johns Hopkins website.
